Welcome to The Old Blog
Below you will find entry into The Old Blog. These posts cover the entirety of The Big Change from Life Afloat to The Hiatus. It’s a long read so take your time and come back often. While it’s a big ask on my part, understanding how I ended up where – and why – I did will simplify the so-called narrative arc and make a lot less work for me trying to explain all that in each and every current post. So strap in and get started but be warned: there be dragons here.
The Old Blog is shown starting with the oldest post. This – rather thoughtful move on my part – means that, when read in order, you get to see how the whole story with all its twists, turns, and confusing diversions simply falls into place. Sort of like tossing a jigsaw puzzle into the air and having it land with each piece exactly where it belongs.
But that’s life.
Thanks for reading.
Howdy, Techs – Part I: It’s Time For a Change
In which the author offers a convincing analysis that the ever increasing pace of technological progress has not only given us a much easier life but pretty much sealed our fate should even one small piece of that infrastructure ever break. We wouldn’t have the Time to fix it.
Howdy, Techs – Part II: Why Don’t You Take a Crack at It?
It which the author continues an ever-more depressing look at how technology is at the beck and call of something that physics tells us doesn’t even exist. Take your Time with this one.
You Have To Start With a Good Foundation

Pop Goes the Weasel
In which the author paints an NSFW picture of the life-and-death reality that is modern micro-farming.
It’s Just a Number
In which the author takes on the population problem, rambles unstatistically, and ends up bathing his reader in a healthy spray of Realism.
Chocolata? Ya, Ya.
In which the author takes another jab at End Stage Capitalism, healthy eating, and that all is not sweetness and light.
