Welcome to The Old Blog
Below you will find entry into The Old Blog. These posts cover the entirety of The Big Change from Life Afloat to The Hiatus. It’s a long read so take your time and come back often. While it’s a big ask on my part, understanding how I ended up where – and why – I did will simplify the so-called narrative arc and make a lot less work for me trying to explain all that in each and every current post. So strap in and get started but be warned: there be dragons here.
The Old Blog is shown starting with the oldest post. This – rather thoughtful move on my part – means that, when read in order, you get to see how the whole story with all its twists, turns, and confusing diversions simply falls into place. Sort of like tossing a jigsaw puzzle into the air and having it land with each piece exactly where it belongs.
But that’s life.
Thanks for reading.
A Trip to the Market
In which the author reminisces about the good old days, economically speaking, that brought us the most recent not-related-to-bat-viruses recession. Wasn’t it Great?
Weed All Be Better Off
In which the author laments and then comes up with actual solutions for the time-tested bane of all micro-farmers.
A Case for Increase
In which the author talks about the natural growth of any enterprise when what you grow, make, or build exceeds your ability to get rid of it after you’ve done so.
The New Normal
In which the author more closely examines the weak link in the economic chain that is Euurope.
Feathering My Nest
In which the author enumerates a seemingly endless list of ditties, aphorisms, and homilies that stem from humanity’s long association with the domestic chicken.
It’s a Honey of a Deal
In which the author bemoans the lack of productivity and architecture seen in his lazy behive while simultaneously looking for the hook that would catapult him and the micro-farm into the stratospheric wealth needed to get the micro-farm sustainably on its feet.
