Welcome to The Old Blog
Below you will find entry into The Old Blog. These posts cover the entirety of The Big Change from Life Afloat to The Hiatus. It’s a long read so take your time and come back often. While it’s a big ask on my part, understanding how I ended up where – and why – I did will simplify the so-called narrative arc and make a lot less work for me trying to explain all that in each and every current post. So strap in and get started but be warned: there be dragons here.
The Old Blog is shown starting with the oldest post. This – rather thoughtful move on my part – means that, when read in order, you get to see how the whole story with all its twists, turns, and confusing diversions simply falls into place. Sort of like tossing a jigsaw puzzle into the air and having it land with each piece exactly where it belongs.
But that’s life.
Thanks for reading.
I’m Just So Stuck Up
In which the author discusses the trials and tribulations of being a roadie in the circus.
I’m All In
In which the author admits to a certain je ne sai quoi when it comes to his inevitable and unexplainably frequent need to just pack up and go.
After a Fashion
In which the author appears to be sucked into the vortex of fashion only to be spit out the far side, unchanged.
Sweet
In which the author somehow manages to link sweet treats, chemistry, addiction, AND the economic premise that you are getting ripped off into a single, enjoyable essay.
Long Time Gone
In which the author (incorrectly it turned out) predicts and explains why the global financial system is in for a sudden shock and why, regardless of the outcome or timing, we’re screwed.
Sundown’s Coming, Get the Garlic
In which the author relives his experiences while traveling to the – arguably – furthest northwest point of the continental United States thereby completing his relocation from the furthest – inarguably – southeast point.
